Voice Over Work

I have joked with many people over the years that I have a “face for radio,” but the response from those that I have encountered has been very positive in regards to my voice, which is a distinct baritone. While it has served me very well both in the classroom and on the field of play, I have, in the last five years, expanded its usage in the areas of Voice Over and Public Address Announcing.

In my academic administrative career, I have recorded radio advertisements in order to help each school increase its enrollment base. Please feel free to click on the play button to hear my radio spots for these schools:

Additionally, I am a frequent guest on the “Gary O” Morning Show on WINY 1350 AM / 97.1 FM in Putnam to discuss all of the latest happenings within the SJS community.

In the world of athletics, after my soccer coaching days were done, I remained involved in Xavier athletics by serving as a Public Address Announcer for five different sports as needed: football, soccer, basketball, hockey, and baseball. In those times, I made sure that student-athletes on both teams received credit where credit was due, and also made efforts to engage the fan base when appropriate, such as singing the “5th Inning Stretch” at XHS baseball games.

Finally, while also at Xavier, I created a fun Friday morning sports show during the homeroom period called the “DJ Size” Show. During this five minute weekly segment, I began the show by playing a snippet of a classic rock song. If a student in that week’s designated homeroom was able to identify the clip, he would receive a coupon for free French Fries, a coveted prize to be sure to cash in during lunch. With the remaining time left, I would cover highlights from the varsity sports teams’ contests from the preceding week and give students that performed well special recognition with a fun nickname, similar to what ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman did while he anchored the SportsCenter desk.

Like with Santa, my wife Nada has encouraged me to expand my ability to do Voice Over work as she registered me for a special Voice Over Workshop held at Hartford Stage in the spring of 2016. This six-part series taught me a great deal about breathing, the enunciation of words, inflection of one’s voice, among other things.

If you have a specific need that I can fill either in Voice Over or as a Public Address Announcer, please fill out the form below which will ask you to fill in some basic information including nature of project, date of event, location of event, etc. I will reply to your request promptly.

I look forwarding to partnering with you!
